Jiří Bartovanec’s dance performance ENTROPY #251, which had its world premiere on September 11th 2015 as part of the Moving Sound Festival organized by the Austrian Consulate in New York, It was presented to the Czech audience at the Ponec Theatre on January 25th 2016.

Jiří Bartovanec came to New York by the invitation of the Czech Center and Ivan Pinkava – the photographer, who curated a two-month program at the National Building in New York, entitled "Have the courage to be an outsider".

In the choreography we can see the spatial search for our own path. Space as a cage in which it is a game of their own possibilities and their perseverance in an isolated and yet full and densely foggy world.

"The path from informed interpretation to choreography is a logical and natural development of a dance career. Jiří Bartovanec probably came close to the top as a performer, at least in terms of experience and length of practice. It took place in the prestigious German ensemble Sasha Waltz and Guests where Jiří has been active for more than eighteen years and from which he can draw richly. Already during his time in Berlin, he introduced himself several times as a choreographer. He is presenting a project whose topic is on the one hand essentially personal for the author and on the other hand perhaps concerns us all," says the set designer and dance teacher Jana Návratová.
